The United States
spends at least
$1,800 more per
person on health care than any other developed
country.Today 45 million Americans are uninsured, including
9 million children.Since
2000, health care premiums for workers have increased
four times faster
than wages. Today the average family insurance
policy costs $11,841 almost the entire amount that a full time
minimum wage worker takes home
in a year.The
United States has the
most expensive
health care system in the world, yet quality and
access lag
behind most other
countries.
How has the health care system affected your family? What stories can you share with the public and your elected representatives? Discuss the problems.Develop the solutions.
